We’ve included a few questions here that we often get asked by customers. Click on them to read our replies. If you have a question that’s not listed here, please email us and we’ll do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

How quickly do we send out your order?

We do not hold large amounts of stock and art prints or poster orders get printed as we receive them. To help keep our carbon footprint down, we try and group weekly orders together; that means collecting them from our printer on Friday morning and sending them out in the afternoon via Royal Mail. Therefore please allow 7–10 days for delivery. If you need you order more quickly, email us at info@rockbirdprints.co.uk and we’ll see if we can help!

We try and keep a stock of greeting cards in the studio so in most cases, your order will be sent out within 24 hours.

How much is delivery in the UK?

We offer free delivery on all art prints and greetings cards. Orders are shipped via Royal Mail Second Class.

How much is delivery outside the UK?

If you live in Europe or further afield, please email us with details of your order and we will confirm the delivery cost with you. We use Royal Mail’s International ‘Tracked’ service. Once your order has been dispatched you should receive it with 7 working days.

What's the best way to pay?

Rock Bird Prints accepts payment by all major credit cards. Our site is fully secure through Shopify payments and your card details are never visible to anyone. Payment will be taken from your account before your order is dispatched. You will be issued with an order confirmation to the email address you have provided.

You can also use PayPal to pay for your order. Just select the Paypal option at checkout.

How do we package our products?

Your art print or greeting card will be packed securely to ensure it’s not damaged on its journey. We use hard backed envelopes or cardboard tubes. You’ll find exact details about our packaging on each of our product pages – just scroll down a bit!

How do we produce our products?

Our art prints come in a range of options. A4 and A3 art prints and A2 posters are reproduced on a range of silk papers  with different thicknesses. Our signed A3 art prints are printed on high quality Hahnemühle art paper – a paper that has a striking pictorial depth and are highly resistant to ageing. All our prints are hand printed by a local printer who specialises in producing gallery art.

Our greeting cards are printed by a printer who specialises in gift stationery. They are printed on premium uncoated board made especially for greeting cards.

Is there a border around the art print?

Yes, the illustration fits inside the paper area leaving a white border around it so you can directly mount into a standard frame size of your choice. This applies to both A4 and A3 prints and A2 posters.

Will the colour of the art print be the same as you see on your screen?

We’ve made sure that our image reproductions are as close as they can be to what we see on our iMac screens and the colour collaborations our digital printer refers to for each image. However, due to the variations in screen colours on the many computers and hand held devices on the market, there can be a difference in the colour of our finished prints to what you see.

How best should I care for my art print or poster?

Please take care when removing your artwork from the packaging. If you have ordered an art print try not to remove it from the cellophane until you are ready to frame it to keep handling to a minimum. If you have ordered a poster please take extra care unrolling it and again keep handling to a minimum until you are ready to display or get it framed. We cannot be responsible for any tears, creases or damage caused by removing the print or poster from its packaging.

Our A4 or A3 art prints come with a white border so that they drop straight into matching sized frames and therefore don’t require a cardboard mount. You’ll find a range of suitable frames in many high street home stores, as well as online (simply Google A4 / A3 frames). If you are wanting to add a mount around your print, we recommend that you dry mount your print onto some backing cardboard as this will help to look after the quality of the paper and keep it totally flat.

If you are framing an A2 poster, we recommend carefully unrolling it onto a clean kitchen table and leaving it for 24 hours with a heavy book placed in each corner. This will help remove the ‘curling’ that will have occurred whilst the paper has been inside the tube and make it much easier to fit into a suitably sized frame. We have also found that putting a soft clean bed sheet over the table before you roll out your print provides an excellent base.

We advise that you don’t hang the finished frame in direct sunlight as this will affect the colouration of the print or poster over time. We would also recommend that you avoid hanging the frame in a kitchen / bathroom area where there is often a lot of steam, as unless the back of the frame is fully sealed, it can seep into the sides and may cause buckling of the print/poster paper itself.

When it comes down to it, we highly recommend that you get your print/poster professionally framed as this is the very best way to look after it for the long term.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If this happens, please email us with photographs of damage to the packaging and print. We will get in touch with you as soon as possible once we have spoken with Royal Mail.

Can you return art prints or greeting cards bought from Rock Bird Prints?

Unfortunately all our art prints, posters and greeting cards are non-returnable.
